"Fake Shipper" Scam: Losing Money for Unordered Packages

A shipper delivers something you didn't order, or calls saying "no COD accepted, please transfer via link" — these are new scam tactics.

Common Tactics

  • Unordered COD delivery: Cheap items (masks, rocks) but COD charges of $20-80
  • Fake shipper phone calls: "Order doesn't accept COD, please transfer via link"
  • Item switching: Correct-looking package but contents are junk/fake

Prevention

  1. Check order on shopping app before accepting
  2. DO NOT accept COD packages you didn't order
  3. Inspect items before payment (open in front of shipper)
  4. Never transfer via links sent by shippers

Remember

You have the right to refuse any COD package you didn't order. No payment needed, no explanation needed.
